Irene Good Night...

Well, Irene has left and we are very thankful.

Thanking you all for prayers/thoughts for our safety.

The damage was inland and somehow the coast was spared..Vermont was really hit with flooding and they lost a covered bridge that was there for over 100 years..So sad to see history washed away..but thankful no one was hurt.

They gave a lot of hype on this storm and many were complaining..but I don't see it that way..

I think it is better to be safe, than sorry..Especially with any kind of storm..you can't control Mother Nature..Lives were lost in different states, so it hit different areas harder than others..

Well, beautiful sky this morning and thankful God spared us..

Hurricane Watch

We will be having a hurricane heading this way, tomorrow..Not sure where about it will hit. I thank God, the water isn't near us, way down the road..but the winds can make things very dangerous. Will keep you posted..if I have electric after this storm.

I have gone through many hurricanes when I was young, on Long Island, N.Y..and remember a boat tied to the telephone pole next to our home..course we would think it was an adventure and kind of enjoy the winds, the water never hit our home..We were lucky.

Well, now on to my adventure with Irene.

A Beautiful Spot to Enjoy Lunch.

On our shopping trip..we always stop at this spot and eat our lunch..Very peaceful. I always look at the little house on the top of the hill/mountain and wonder who, would live there?..I zoomed in, so you can't see how far away it really is..My thoughts on that little home..it has to take a beaten in winter, nothing to protect it, just the few trees. One day, I will have to take a trip and see what it looks like, up close.

Visitor at the Craft Show

This guy visited us at the Craft Fair..I thanked him for letting me take a few pictures.

Have to admit, gulls always make me laugh..They do funny things..I remember once, my mother was in the water, and a gull kept trying to pick up her shoe on the beach. He kept taking the shoe lace, to lift it up, then it would drop because of the weight..Never know what will interest them.

Sun in Morning Fog.

This is this mornings sun through the fog..It was such a beautiful site. No matter what is going on in our lives, there is something to always be thankful for..Was so happy I happened to look out the window and get a few pictures.

Have been missing from my blog..Worked a couple of weekends with youngest daughter at Craft Fairs..I tell you, the last one, near the ocean caused a problem for me. sore throat/cough and just a terrible feeling..nothing that serious, but surprised me, since I am not sick that often..Makes you realize how lucky you are to get out of bed and feel wonderful..something I was taking for granted..Good lesson for me..haha..

So Much Happening.

Have been helping one of our daughters with a Craft Fair..It has been busy..another one next weekend..will work it with her again..

While this Fair was in full swing, a little Dragonfly came for a visit..Sat long enough to get a couple of pictures..Oh, the beauty of this little guy, they always amaze me. The colors they come in are so interesting. He just happens to be all black, but look at the little dots on the wing..just wonderful.

A Beautiful Sunset.

There is something so soothing about the sunrise and sunset..Some mornings you start with a heavy heart, only to look outside and see a beautiful sunrise..The same thing happens in the evening.

So many times I feel the weight of the day, only to sing God's praises at night for letting me see His beauty.

The Moon..

Early this morning, the moon looked so beautiful.

The pictures are very peaceful..There is something about the moon, it always brings a smile to my face..Maybe because the "man on the moon" is smiling back at me..ha..Bet you didn't see that remark coming..

Luna Moth..

Here is a picture of a Luna Moth, that happened to get into our screen porch.

To me, it is another beautiful gift from God..even though none of the kids were really anxious to look at it. I made sure it was put outside, so it could go on its way. Course, I thanked it for coming to visit.

The Garden..Slow Going.

This type rose, you can use the rose hips for Jelly.

Haven't done it yet, but will try, one day.

Our garden is slow going. Weather has been terrible, so couldn't start early..This is the way it goes here..some years are better than others.

Course we might have a good fall and that will make up for all the lost time..

Old Fashioned Iris.

What a happy site, two little iris flowers..These flowers were here when we bought the house and with my terrible gardening skills, I almost lost all of them..I get a weed whacker in my hand and everything goes down. I don't mean to, but I get carried away..Since I have not used the whacker, these two little flowers came up.

Well, now I am going to try and do things differently..will work with grass cutters by hand. Remember.....

It is never too late, to learn something good..

Interesting Sunset..After all the Storms.

What an odd sunset..But it was an odd day, yesterday..Tornadoes hit Massachusetts and did quite a bit of damage. We were under tornado watch too. So thankful nothing happened here.

Then as the sun was setting, it was just a different kind of sunset, as you can see..

Well, today brings a new day and the sun is shinning brightly..Isn't this the way life is?

One day so dark and the next day we rise above the darkness..May we all have the sun shinning in

our lives.

I kept watching the darkness creep in..and heard the thunder in the distance..sure enough..lightening/wind/rain..then it passed.
