What a Beautiful Earring..

Golden earring found in Jerusalem dates back to the time of Christ..Now is this interesting or what?
This earring was discovered beneath a parking lot next to the walls of Jerusalem's old city..
The story was on Fox/Yahoo..You can visit Fox News.com's archaeology center and check out what they have to say..

When you look at the earring, don't you wonder who wore it? And to think it was during the Roman period..Amazing..They claim earrings similar to this one have been found at archaeological sites throughout Europe..where the Roman Empire also flourished..For those that didn't get a chance to read this story..
hope you enjoy it..

Till next time, keep looking up..

I love this, you're right, I try and imagine who wore it all that time ago!
And it wouldn't look out of place today.
'Old' things are so fascinating. :0)

I imagine those things too! I am such a history nut. It doesn't even look old and I agree--looks like something you could buy today.

I do try to imagine who wore pieces of ancient jewelry. Same with when they find ancient remains. What was his/her name? How big was the family? I am always so curious about the ancient treasures that are found. Thanks so much for sharing this :-)

Wow when I first saw it I thought it reminded me of Anne Boleyn. Although wrong place & time! I'm always trying to get organized- my husband laughs b/c it is all a facade and yesterday I think a small part of him realized that! lol

Wow, it is so amazing to discover little bits of history like this. I definitely agree with your wonderment on who wore the item. It further makes me wonder if 1,000 years from now someone will discover something created by say an Etsy jewelry designer and wonder the same thing. History is so fascinating.

These finds always amaze me so! I wonder not only who wore them but who made them and whether they thought as they were making them that they'd be found centuries later.
