Beautiful Birthday Card.

The other day the girls/families came and gave me a surprise birthday party..
My youngest son-in-law made this card..took him 51/2 hours to draw Our Lady of Perpetual Help..It will be framed of course..but wanted to share its beauty with all of you.
Now the funny part of this story..He went on line and had a bunch of Icons to pick from and he happened to pick this one to draw..When I was a young child, my mother had the most beautiful picture , like this one, hanging on our wall in the kitchen..
I use to sit and stare at the picture and think that was where I was going to Kindergarten..it always had a special place in my heart..Of all the beautiful Icons to pick, he chose this one to draw. Of course, he didn't know of my experience with this Icon.
I do not believe in coincidences..but I do believe we are always under God's care and every now and then, He lets us know it..just by a little memory, like my card..
Till next time, keep looking up.

My Prize From Meekiyua..

I won these beautiful envelopes from Meekiyua's blog give-away.
Framed them for my grandchildren and will give them when they come here for Easter.
When I got to the last grandchild, I realized I didn't have enough envelopes..But..my dear friend MaryKate from Malaysia had sent me a few things and one was a handkerchief used in weddings. So I put that in for the baby with MK's note that explained the meaning behind it. Had to turn it sideways to fit.
I know my grandchildren will be thrilled with these pictures. They are very appreciative and will love the culture behind this gift..
Thank you so much MK/Meekiyua for sharing your wonderful culture with me..Check out their blogs, they are the best.
Till next time, keep looking up.

Shadow Shot Sunday..

Found a few shadows around the house..First is the napkin holder. Then on to the living room window. Last is on deck. Took out two chairs/table and saw a nice shadow. Weather was a bit nippy, but feels so nice sitting in the sun.

Check out Hey Harriet's blog for other great shadow shots.

Here are a few beautiful Fingerprints from God, that I was so lucky to catch early in the morning. No matter how many times I take pictures of the sky,morning/noon/night..God's Fingerprint is there. There is no material thing that has given me this type of joy..His gift just keeps on giving. Thank you God.

My Little Friend.

The Cardinal was visiting my feeder that is hanging by the door. Couldn't get a brighter pictures of him, but he is beautiful.
Always happy to see the birds.
Spring is coming, even though the Cardinal is with us all through the winter. Makes life a bit more cheery during that time.
Always something to be thankful for, if we just look around.
Till next time, keep looking up.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Spring is here and the angel/St. Francis are here to prove it.
Took them out of my shed and will put them where they belong in the yard.
They gave a nice shadow, don't you think? Franny boy is glad to be outside again.
Now I have reflections..that to me are like shadows, in the water. Then the rocks. As you can see, took the camera for another ride when I went shopping. Gosh, I am doing good. Now if I could just remember to bring my own bags to the grocery store, so they don't have to give me plastic. I keep forgetting them in the car..Oh well, I do recycle the plastic.
Be sure to visit Hey Harriet's blog for wonderful shadow shots..She has helped me be aware of the beauty in a shadow. Thank you my dear Tracy.

Till next time, keep looking up.

Shadow Shot Sunday.

I found these pictures from fall and thought they would be good for shadows. They are pretty and shadows are all around.
Trying to get a little different look, since I didn't go anywhere and didn't want to bore everyone with my same yard shots.
Be sure to go over to Hey Harriet's blog for great shadow shots.

Till next time, keep looking up.

Morning Sky.

What a beautiful sky, this morning..It went by so fast, I was lucky to get a couple of pictures.
I have no shame. There I am, in the front yard, hair all over the place, p.j's/bathrobe on just to catch these two pictures. Lucky we have bushes in the front, so I could hide behind them.
You have to admit, it was worth the humiliation.
Till next time, keep looking up.

Fingerprint Friday.

Trying to pick something for Fingerprint Friday, so I went through all my pictures and thought the moon would be a wonderful Fingerprint from God. What would we do without it? It controls the tides and some plant their gardens by the moon. There are so many things that I am not even aware of that the moon controls. This I do know, it is beautiful to look at and gives me a peaceful feeling.

Be sure to visit Pampering Beki for many other Fingerprints from God.

Happy Anniversary in Heaven..

This blog is dedicated to my Mom..it is six years today, since she passed away.
She was a wonderful mom and full of fun.
In this picture, she is in Hawaii, a place she always wanted to visit.

No matter how long a person is gone, the love they gave you will live on and they will always be missed.

As I put on her stone.."Till we meet again, Mom"..

Till next time, keep looking up.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Took a ride the other day and remembered my camera..Here are a few water pictures with shadows. One thing on the coast of Maine, you will always see water when driving. Coves are all over the place, where the ocean travels in/out.

Some spots there is fresh water that you follow into salt water. Very interesting and beautiful scenery. Have to admit, one of the most beautiful states I have ever lived in..now if we could get the snow to fall only inland , for the skiers, we would be set.

Be sure to go to Hey Harriet's blog for other shadow shots.

Follow up on Irena Sendler.

Here is a movie on Irena..the woman I wrote about on Fingerprint Friday.
I tell you, just looking at her face, below in yesterday's writing..tugs at my heart. What a courageous woman..This movie will be a must in this house.
What an example for today..how to give of ones self, instead of how to get more things for ones self.
Till next time, keep looking up.

A Story that I did on Fingerprint Friday Worth Repeating.

Look at this woman's face and you will see a real Fingerprint from God.

This story is going around in an email and I had to use it for Fingerprint Friday.

There recently was a death of a 98 year old woman named Irena Sendler.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an "ulterior motive"..She knew what the Nazi's

plans were for the Jews (being German). Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger children).

She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the childrens noise.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the children she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunite them with their family. Most had been gassed. The children she helped got placed into foster family homes or were adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize..She was not selected..Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Now tell me, do you honestly have any respect for the Nobel Peace Prize? It is a joke. I will say this, Irena might have lost the Nobel Peace Prize, but what she gained in heaven will beat any prize on earth.

What a beautiful fingerprint from God and I am so happy to share this story with everyone, she is my hero.

Check out PamperingBeki's blog for more wonderful Fingerprints.

Till next time, keep looking up.
