Ruby -Throated Hummingbirds..

There have been a few pictures, in an email, of a woman and all these Hummingbirds
eating out of her hands..I put up two pictures for you to see..Now they say, she is in a Hummingbird zone and maybe that makes a difference..I can only tell you this..at my Hummingbird feeder, they dive bomb each other and make sure they don't share a drop of food..I have been watching them for quite a few years and it is always the same thing..Had one female sit on a bush and she made sure no one would get near the feeder..soon as they did, she was after them..I took a picture of a male eating, before another came after him..I have been trying to get pictures, but they are too fast for me.
In the spring, I always know when they arrive..one will fly to my door, where I have the feeder every year, then fly away..Letting me know they are here.
As far as sharing, my little friends haven't learned that yet..Have to admit, they do make bird watching exciting.

Till next time, keep looking up..

I love hummingbirds! On a trip to San Antonio, TX, I saw more in one hour than I'd ever seen in my life! Ex-MIL's garden has plenty of flowers to attract them and they are so fun to watch!

Wow, they are so pretty!

I have a bit of a phobia about things flapping around me so I couldn't do that hand feeding.

I'd love to have hummingbirds eating out of my hand, I'd feel like Cinderella! I love the baby and mother seal photo in your last entry too, so cute!!

Amazing that they are sitting on her hands!

Eighty 8 Words blog had some incredible hummingbird photos last week (or the week before). One was asleep on a flower! Beautiful.

They're fascinating little birds the Hummingbirds. I saw those photos that 'High Desert Diva' mentioned being on the 88words blog. Do check them out if you get a chance because they are truly beautiful photos!

Your right about them sharing, they don't do it. Mine were having a stand off the other day in mid air just daring the other one to try and eat, and when one of them did , the dive bombing was on!!
One sits on the clothes line and patrols the feeder. They are so funny!!

They're such beautiful birds! We don't have any around here... we don't have many birds at all except pigeons, sparrows and little black birds.
