Mirages In Finland

Now this is interesting..First, I want to thank Pekka Parviainen for letting me use his pictures..
they are on Space Weather under links, should you like to read more about this..The pictures are taken in Finland.

If you notice, the sailboat, well, the background is a mirage..The next picture looks like two ships, one on top of the other..There are more pictures to see and much to read about this interesting topic..Check it out.

I always think of a saying my Father use to tell me.."Believe nothing of what you hear, and half of what you see"..of course he was referring to gossip, but can be used for a mirage..you think you see something, but you don't..Hey, there is a lesson in these pictures...

Till next time, keep looking up..

To see is to believe, as my great grandpa told us.

It's amazing pix and I do believe what I see. Been there. The swedish & finnish archipelagoes are wonderful.

Cruising from Stockholm takes us a night to an island of Mariehamn. To Helsinki takes us 3 days round trip. Isn't that amazing? You can see the nice islands in Scandinavia.

Cheers for the w/end! God bless...

That is an incredible trick that nature or the atmosphere can play on us. Wise words of your father's.

Just wanted to let you know that you have been tagged on my blog. No obligation:)

ooh that is one large mirage! I read that mirages are actually reflections of the sky? I saw many during road trips in CA in summer, thought it was very interesting!

Very cool, that first one looks like an ice shelf or something like that (glacier maybe?). Really cool to be able to capture a mirage on camera & share with the world!

What interesting pictures. Very cool! Your father sounds like a wise man. It's a funny little saying that one. Had to think about it for a while before it clicked ;)

So beautiful and intruiging. I believe that mirages are created for a reason....for us to see ENTIRE picture!

I love these mirages. I've seen them in the dessert but never like that. Very cool!
