Our Squeaks..

Today I write about a cat. Not just any cat, but one that thought he was human..
We found Squeaks in the barn when CaraRose was nine. Never having a cat, I wasn't sure what to do..We fed him formula with an eye dropper, since he was so small..he would snuggle in my bathrobe as I had coffee in the morning..I had to keep telling Cara to stop squeezing him, for fear she would kill him..Did you ever see that cartoon where the little girls squeezed her cat, well, that was CaraRose. As time went on and Cara went to college, Squeaks stayed on with us..Then Cara got married and ole Squeaks went with her. Squeaky is now 18 and quite sick, so now the hard part comes...We will go to Cara/Jims and my husband will go with Jim to have him put down..then bring him home for his final resting place..Some people may say it is "only" an animal, but he was more than that to us..he was family..now the positive side of this story...Squeaks bought so much happiness, laughter and love..we will always be thankful for the gift we found in the barn..

Till next time, keep looking up.

So sorry to hear about your cat, I know what it's like to get attached to an animal, they really become a part of your family....

So sorry to hear about Squeaks. Animals are an important part of the family, especially having him for so long. He practically grew up with your daughter.

Squeaks sounds like he's been a wonderful companion for your family. We recently lost our 16 year old cat, Peanut. It's not an easy loss. Maybe he and Squeaks will find each other on the other side of the Bridge.

I named my cat Squeak as well because squeaks like a kitten. He is almost 3 years old weighing over 18lbs but still has the tiny voice.

My sympathies. Animals become part of our families - sometimes they are just plain nicer than people. I wish you the best as you go through this difficult ordeal.

Awww! What a sweet and touching story. Even though Squeaks was "only a cat" he was still part of your family and I'm sure you'll miss him. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about Squeaks, 18 is a good age to get to for a cat and it sounds like he gave and recieved a lot of love in that time.

RIP Squeaks. We love our animals like family and they loves us the same way. It's hard to lose a loved one.

I think animals, also, remind us of the good times we have had with our family too. Animals remind us of times when we are happy. Plus animals can be characters too. Hope you are not too upset.

I am so very sorry. Boy, I know this feeling all to well. They are very special little beings. My life is forever better from having all my animals in my life. That brought a tear to my eye.

Oh, Squeaky... My cat, Jerzy, was 19 when he died, and it was so hard to lose him. Just remember how lucky you are to have had him for 18 years and how happy he was to have been so loved his whole life ♥

Hi,
sorry about your cat I know how attached we get-My cat sleeps on the bed every night and its her job to gently lick my eye lids to wake me in the morning somehow she knows which days I am supposed to be up at 6 am and on those days I can sleep she waits until 7:30 To lose her would be a great loss-
And thank you for reading my blogs,
bob
