Shadow Shot Sunday.,
Our Dear Hey Harriet, has her Shadow Shot Sunday..which I look forward to every week..but I do think I am starting to get carried away with it...I was taking this turtle all around the yard, getting shadows..of course talking to him as we traveled together..then I would get a hold of myself and make sure the neighbors were not watching..if he was real would be one thing, but chatting with a yard ornament..So, I put him down in a hurry and caught the tree shadow..trying to act dignified again..
Check out Hey Harriet's blog, she has started this idea and it is really catching on.
There are really beautiful pictures of shadows that everyone takes..
Till next time, keep looking up..

Inside The Magazines..
Here are a few pictures inside the Magazines from the 30ies..The patterns for dresses are quite interesting..Hair do is the finger wave style..
The gowns are really quite lovely..In all honesty, with a little nip and tuck here an there, could be todays style..
The kitchen is interesting and they have sure changed .The funny part is, I have a sink and stove just like it
in the barn.
The cabinet looks like a hoosier cabinet and have one of them in the kitchen..that didn't come with this house..something I had..Anyway, all of this is really fun to see and I hope you enjoyed it..Will check out other pages as time goes on..
Till next time, keep looking up...

Fingerprint Friday..
Pampering Beki started this Fingerprint Friday theme and it makes you aware of so much..
Now here is a Fingerprint from God, we sometimes take for granted..Corn.. I forget what a gift this vegetable is..Not only tasty, but used for corn syrup, corn starch, cereals, fuel, corn husk dolls and the list goes on.. You can keep planting it in the same field, year after year, which you can't do with many other vegetables..This wonderful food is really a fingerprint if you think about it. I have to give credit to the American Indians for sharing their wonderful knowledge and this beautiful gift..
Every week, I thank Pampering Beki for having Fingerprint Friday..it makes you see so many things to be thankful for..Check out her blog and join in..

Fun Find..
Was looking in my trunk for magazines and forgot I put these in there..
They are magazines from the 30ies that we found in the barn. The first is a classy lady and then the others are pictures of woman/men from different countries..Greece, Russia,France, Ireland and Argentina/Spain..
Aren't they beautiful?
As time goes on,will take pictures of some of the things inside these magazines..I know everyone will enjoy seeing a little of the past..Fashion, advertisements, patterns and a recipe or two..

Now I am Chasing Down Insects..
Lately, I find I am looking close at the bees and crickets..since I have camera in hand..I ask them to smile..Now, you have to admit, they are cute..The last picture of the cricket, you would almost think he is thinking, "Get the picture taken, I have things to do"... see how his head is turned?
So, I did hurry and he took off..

Huge Fish..
How would you like to meet this fish, as you are scuba diving?
He is a man-sized grouper and he is in the Eastern Pacific Ocean..can grow to 6' and weigh up to 1,000 lbs..
He is a new species..just when you think we know it all, something new is discovered. I know this, I wouldn't want to be under the water when this guy shows up..
You can read about it here..
When you read stories like this, it makes you realize, there are still things on this earth that we know nothing about..Interesting, don't you think?

Shadow Shot Sunday...
It is time for Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday..one of my favorite times..My first shadow, is a fish out of water..I dragged this fish all over the house, just to get a nice shadow..
Next shot is a weed.. Hope you noticed the cricket in this picture..Now another weed, called Wild Cucumber..climbing vine, has little white flowers and prickly fruit..nothing you can eat, but gave a lovely shadow. In case some are wondering, why all the weed shots.. it's the only thing I can grow..
Remember to join in with Hey Harriet and her Shadow Shot Sunday..check out her blog and see what beautiful shadows shots people take..
Till next time, keep looking up..

Wild Flowers
These are a few of the wild flowers at summers end..The first, I believe is in the Aster family..not sure of its name..The second, I was told, is called Golden Glow..it is related to the sunflower..It grows tall and spreads every year..It is such a beautiful flower and its blooms last for a long time..As much as I enjoy these wild flowers, I always feel a little sad..just knowing summer is coming to an end when they appear..Then I have to snap myself out of that feeling and be happy I can enjoy the beauty for another year..See how you have to work with that saying, "Is the glass half full, or is the glass half empty"...Ah, this life..we can't give in to the negative.
Till next time, keep looking up..

Fingerprint Friday.
Pampering Beki
has Fingerprint Friday..As you all know, it is something you think is a Fingerprint from God..
Naturally, everywhere you look is something beautiful, but I had to try and get this little Hummingbird for my Fingerprint this Friday..The pictures are not that great, but they were the best I could do..It doesn't matter how many times I look at these birds, I am always in awe..They give me many laughs, as they are not good at sharing the feeder..Next thing, they are dive bombing each other..
For other beautiful pictures of Fingerprints..visit Pampering Beki and see who joins in..Maybe, you would like to try..?

Joe's New Book...
Joesph DiLalla's new book was released on July 22, 2008...Just read it, The Chosen Few...He co-authored with Roy Eaton and I have to tell you, this is a page turner..If you enjoy a good read, you really have to give this author a try..
His first book, Bloodlines, was another hit..They are mysteries and the twists and turns in the books are something else. Bloodlines, about a woman and her dark secret..The Chosen Few, about a drug company..
I am not good on reviews, since I don't dare write too much for fear of giving the plot away..so you have to
read them yourselves...If you enjoy good mysteries, your are in for a treat..They can be bought at Borders /Amazon.
I realize, I am not Oprah, but you can trust me on this...you won't be disappointed.

Tagged..Oh my..
Sarah, from Blue Boy Gifts,
has tagged me..You are to write 10 random things about yourself..I may have a few repeats from another tag..
1. Enjoy reading blogs..what's new?
2. Find it interesting to learn about different things..
3. Enjoy being with older people, they have so much knowledge to share.
4. I say this all the time, try to keep my mind open to things, even if they aren't what you believe in, amazing what you can learn.
5. Have learned that life deals us all, good and bad, it is how we handle it, that makes us or breaks us..
6. Enjoy people that have a great sense of humor..We all should laugh more.
7. As I age, it is amazing how I see some things so differently..what is important and what isn't.. almost like weeding a garden..
8. Material things are not important to me..never were.
9.Loyalty/honesty are very important.
10..One of the best sayings I have heard and try to live by.."Possession is Possession"..you own nothing, it owns you...Years ago, a man from India, told my husband this and I never forgot it..
I do think my tags were more serious, but they are truly who I am....I have to tag three people..here goes..
High Desert Diva, Hey Harriet, Bubble Babbles...and on that note..

Interesting sky..
I don't know why, but the sky interests me so much..These pictures were taken from my back deck..First you see color, then everything changed and the pictures look black/white..The clouds started getting very dark and all color was lost..Caught my little friend in the pine tree..He was probably wondering what was happening too.
Interesting pictures, I think..

Shadow Shot Sunday..
Hey Harriet has her Shadow Shot Sunday and it is so much fun..the things I do for my shadow shots..I shock myself..
More and more people are joining in..Hey Harriet, you should feel very proud for bringing so much fun to so many people..without further ado...first is lace curtains..I thought they looked pretty, then a light from the Luau..and then my Hula...Yes, my dear friends..I once again, make a fool of myself just for a shadow shot..The last picture is so blurry, but it is some of the family in their Luau attire..
Even the rabbit is ready to have fun..and on that note, I say Aloha...

Crazy Weather..
Never have I heard or seen such odd weather as this year..These pictures are from Long Island, N.Y. The photo of lightening was taken by Peter Blasl, as it hit the water off Long Island sound..The water spouts were taken by Mark Kopko, again Long Island sound in Riverhead..In all my life, I never saw a water spout out there..Now they may have happened, but I never heard of it..Then yesterday, Manhattan was under tornado watch..I know Brooklyn had a tornado, last year..It just seems so strange to hear this type of weather out there..We had hurricanes, but never tornadoes.. Just found this all so interesting and gives the mind, food for thought..
Till next time, keep looking up..
