Fingerprint Friday..

On Friday, Pampering Beki has what is called Fingerprint Friday..Something you think is a beautiful print from God, on this earth..check out her blog and see the people that join in..
For a fingerprint, this Friday, will be our Mountain Ash tree..It looks so beautiful with all the berries on it..This year was exceptional..In the spring it has all white flowers and then for the end of summer you get the red berries...Which, is food for the birds..Well, they will be having a feast this fall..We have two other trees in the back yard and they look just like this one..
Many of our bushes/trees that are planted here, we bought from the Conservation Department years ago, with the hope of attracting birds. Some did well and some didn't..so happy these trees made it..and you can bet the birds are too..

Fun Toys..

I can't help myself..I think Lion Brand Yarn
has some of the cutest toys to knit/crochet....I put pictures up every now and then, just in case you don't get a chance to see them..I find them fun to make for my grandchildren.
Since these are so easy and small, can be made very fast and they have many other fun patterns..With Christmas coming, now would be the time to make toys and put them away..

Crop Circle

Every now and then I read something that catches my eye and like to share it with everyone..Here is a crop circle that was found in the U.K on 8/8/08. Linda Moulton Howe, from Earth Files, was kind enough to give me permission to print it..

Reported August 8, 2008, below Milk Hill, near Alton Barnes,
Wiltshire, England. Andreas Muller, Editor of Kornkreise-forschung.de/ reports,
“I estimate the total axis length to be about 250 to 272 meters (820 to 892 feet).”

Thought you would all enjoy seeing it...The last picture shows people walking around in it..Doesn't it make one wonder..?
Who would be making these things? There have been people that claim they can do it and then proven wrong..Interesting, don't you think? Anyway, something to think about, keep the mind open..

What a Happy Surprise..

What a happy surprise from Bubble Babble..she handed me this award and you have to list six things you are happy for right now..

1. For a wonderful weekend with our children/grandchildren.

2. For the weather holding up and letting the sun shine..at least for the weekend..

4. Just having a roof over our heads..and may I say, since it was just roofed, a mighty nice one at that.

Shadow Shots for Sunday..

Have to put up my Shadow Shots for tomorrow..as I will be busy cooking for the luau..
Hey Harriet,
as some of us know, has Shadow Shot Sunday..I have to make sure I don't miss this, so have to do it today..
First, is a chair on deck, without cushion..with cushion is quite comfortable..next squash leaf, picked squash for luau, and then bamboo chimes, that look like they are hanging crooked, but aren't..As you all know, my pictures are always off..but I have a great time taking them...Hey Harriet is a great blog and she has made Shadow Shot Sunday so much fun..Remember to join in...Oh, next week you might see a shadow of me doing the hula...

Fingerprint Friday, Pampering Beki started this wonderful idea..Today's fingerprint from God, is a favorite of mine, Maui, Hawaii...Since I am having a luau for the family this weekend, thought I would share some of its beauty and keep the theme going. Luau, Family Style...

Well, this weekend we are having a luau..Yep, have to have our Hawaiian fix.. Now, would love to have a little Jackman here, but against the law to take them off Hawaii..for sure a rainbow won't show..and I know the guys won't make a pit for my pork..so I will improvise..

Will be happy with the crickets running around, the rain clouds in the sky and will cook pork on the grill...Hey, as long as we are all together, sharing good food and good company...Who can ask for anything more? Yes, we are all thankful to be together and can't wait for the weekend..

If You Don't Like The Weather, Wait A Minute...

The title is an old saying in Maine.."If you don't like the weather, wait a minute"...Well folks, take a look at these pictures..I was on a happy walk to the garden, saw a beautiful sky..clouds opening up..sun shinning so nicely and all of a sudden things got dark. I heard a boom...need I say more? I was gone in a flash, before a flash got me..Ah, this Maine weather...you just never know what upsets the gods..Maybe they didn't like getting their picture taken..

Perseid Meteor Shower Coming..

This picture is from National Geographic and shows the Perseid Meteor Shower and what a treat you are in for..It will peak on August 11/12.
This is a fun thing to watch with children..Get a blanket and set it up in the yard or deck/porch..and watch the show.
The only thing that would ruin this display, is the weather..lets hope for clear skies..
To me this meteor shower and the one in November are the best..If you have never seen one before, you are in for a wonderful time.
Nothing beats fireworks from heaven..

After the Storm..

We had quite the storm, yesterday..As I was looking at the great job, husband did sealing the back deck this year, the puddles of rain gave an interesting picture..Look in them and you can see our barn..Just thought they were very interesting.
Yes, I take the camera everywhere lately..I think you guessed that, when you saw the picture of a little slug from another blog. But you have to admit, he was cute and looking right at me..

The Wonderful Shadow Shot Sunday..

As we know, Our Dear HeyHarriet has her Shadow Shot Sunday, every week..Well, I am becoming obsessed with shadows..so much, I am making my own..I see the sun coming through the door and run for something to put on the table..Here are a few fun things..First, is a paper weight..you have to admit, it is pretty interesting.
I could have filled this blog with pictures I took of it..I was having a great time..Had to control myself..Next, is a lovely little dish that gave a nice shadow..and for the heck of it..threw in the salt/pepper shakers..

Fingerprint Friday...

PamperingBeki has Fingerprint Friday and it is such a great idea, one that I enjoy and have fun with..
One of the most beautiful Fingerprints of God are children..not to take away from wonderful parents, because their job is one of the hardest and without a big Fingerprint, could never succeed.

Construction..

Our son-in-law is building a roof over the deck, so to keep the snow off in winter..Last winter we
had a metal roof put on the house..well, the snow fell off so nicely, we could hardly get out the door.
We had a small awning over the door, but forget the rest..I am talking snow up to the windows..
So as the guys work, I enjoy my daughter/grandchildren and another daughter came out with them..just for a couple of days..
These are always my happiest times..having family around. So we get a new roof and have family here at the same time..God is good..

Asking A Favor...

Was reading a blog, Rhondamum, and her mom is going through some very hard times with breast cancer..Rhonda is asking if people would send her mom a homemade/bought card, wishing her well..Just go to Rhondamum and comment, leave your email and she will get back to you on where to send the card..This is such a wonderful idea and I am sure will lift her mother's spirit up for the long haul she has..seven weeks of radiation and hopefully, that will do the trick..If not, chemo will be involved.
When going through a treatment like this, it is good to use all the positive,happy energy you have. I took my mother for six weeks of radiation, so I know how important all this is.
Please take the time to bring a little joy to a woman, that is going through a difficult time..Thanks..

What A Crop...

I have to admit, I am shocked at the Raspberries this year..The bush just keeps giving...
This is an old bunch of Raspberry bushes someone gave me a long time ago..Husband cut them all down and they started back two year ago..I told him to leave them..Well, never have I seen so many berries..So far, I think I have had two gallons full..Have been making jellies and freezing the rest, for making more things in the winter..Will of course share this wealth with people..Don't want you guys to think I am a greedy gert..
This is one of the happy bushes that didn't get hit with my famous "weed whacker"..

Shadow Shot Sunday..

Well, here we are with Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday..One of my favorite days..Can not tell you how much fun I have looking for a shadow..
The first is a cute weed, would I have anything else? Next my nightlight was looking pretty neat and as I was walking into the house, I looked towards the road and thought the shadow from the trees was nice.
You have to admit,"I give it my best shot"..Hope you like that line..

Something different from SpaceWeather

It is called a Corona..and much smaller than a rainbow..They have so many people sending in pictures of the most beautiful auras, rainbows, which I have shown, and things you never heard of..very educational for children, since they have information about Mars and all the Space missions..
Couldn't help myself, had to share this beauty with everyone..
