Another Type Rose..

This rose is called, Rugosa or Beach Rose..It is a very dense shrub..nasty thorns..
It will bloom from June to October..I have them around the deck, very private bush.
Not much smell with the flower, but pretty..Now these rose hips you can use to make jelly, syrup and whatever recipe you want with rose hips..I always wanted to try and make something with them, but haven't yet..As you know, rose hips are full of Vitamin C, so it really would be worth the effort.
Things that grow in this yard, are usually things that are wild or no work at all to take care of. As I have said before, I am not a gardener..I wish I was, since I enjoy the beauty of everything.

Till next time, keep looking up.

I love Rosa rugosa! I've been planning to add some to my gardens, but something else pops up every time I get around to designing and incorporating them.

Lovely pics. :)

Pretty flowers. I love rose flavoured jelly/jam. It's so yummy with Danish feta cheese on scones. May sound kind of weird but it's really tasty. The best plants for the garden are the ones that require minimal effort :)

Ooh so pretty!!

I wanted to be a gardener when I was a little girl (didn't we all?) but everything I planted never grew...

Another very pretty rose! So these are the rose hips used for vitamin C? I had no idea what they looked like.

Happy day to you!

I love any kind of wild flowers, for the very reason you don't have to take care of them, and they're still beautiful! Which these roses are, and I adore the name...Beach Rose. :)

Very pretty flowers. I must say that I am jealous. I love flowers and have many in my yard. Roses are pretty but lillies are my fav. Do you have any of them?

beautiful flowers! You can dry the rose hips and mix them with sea salt and put them in your bathtub for a relaxing herbal bath!
lucky.

My favourite colour. I have a tree that buds a beautiful purply colour in Spring. I will have to capture this in a few months time.

What a lovely flower. I'm the same type of gardener. I am willing to plant the flowers, but God needs to provide the food and water, as I often forget to water the plants. Lovely blooms!

You must make jelly!! When we lived here (at the beach where we are visiting this week) my Mom used to make jelly out of them and it is very yummy! One of my favorite flowers because they truly mean SUMMER!! Beautiful post :)
