Thankful.

It is raining out and I am very thankful. I don't care for the mix, rain/sleet. Makes driving so dangerous. Really looking forward to spring..
Hope everyone is doing something positive this year..like I said in the beginning of January, it is all about "new beginnings"..Even if you haven't started positive thoughts, it is never too late, to start something good.
Isn't it funny, how easy it is to be negative, yet hard to think positive?
Now when you get out of bed, start being thankful..Why? Well, didn't you get up
this morning? I think that is a good reason to be thankful.
I won't kid you, I have had to fight to be positive too..It isn't something that just drops in your lap, it is your choice..It took me awhile to realize that..but what a much better way to go. So now with that in mind. Till next time, Keep looking up!

Mercury Retrograde

It is the start of Mercury Retrograde and things might get a little mixed up..Computers may have a problem and if you buy something new, it might have a slight problem and you have to return it.
I like the thought of getting my thoughts together and finishing things I started.
I did have a little trouble with my computer, but it was an easy fix.
At this time it is all about redo...always remember you "rule" the stars, the stars don't rule you.
So many people are worried when they hear about Mercury retrograding. I use to be that way and then I started reading about it, like anything else, it is all how you handle it.
So enjoy this retrograde and finish things you started. Put the positive in your life and it will work out for you.

What a cool morning..

The thought of spring just keeps getting more sweet..
Sometimes we get flower bulbs and plant them inside, just to make us feel like spring. It is kind of fun to see the flowers bloom. In Feb. I will cut some forsythia branches, bring them inside and they will bloom..All of this makes you very happy..Isn't is something how a blossom can lift your spirits?
Try it...It doesn't cost much and it is something that can make winter easier.

You know, I can't say enough about the Etsy business..It isn't that I am selling things, but they have so many wonderful sellers there, it is worth visiting. There is themumandtherose, jewelery and some folk art, then a beautiful new site is BellaSakura, great pendents. My site is only angels and CTM orginals, is what it is called..left out and "i" and couldn't change it.
Any of you that have a gift..please consider trying to sell at Etsy. Even if nothing sells, it gets your stuff out there and all it takes is one sale..It isn't expensive either..check it out.
I find the forum a great place for information and the people are very helpful..so, this could be a good year to try something new..

What a beautiful thing to do.
None of us want war, but we are in it and our boys/girls are there. Just to let them know we care and are praying for them to come home safely...
My heart goes out to all the families that have lost their children in this terrible war.
It doesn't matter what I think of it or my politics, our troops are there and they are the ones I care
about..as well as the other countries walking beside them.
Keep them all in your prayers and may they all come home soon.

Hope you all enjoyed the poem yesterday.

That poem has a story behind it. Our son-in-law had a job related incident and it was very upsetting..Our oldest daughter wrote the poem, for him..I just think it is beautiful and hope you all enjoyed it.
As we all know, with this life on earth..there are days we get down..I can't stress enough about positive thinking. If you notice, the negative thinking you don't have to think about, it is there fast and furious..like good and evil... positive and negative..
So keep thinking good thoughts and looking up...

The sun is out and it is beautiful..

Well, we did get quite a bit of snow, but what can you do? We are in Maine..Today is beautiful, but cold.
Will do some cooking today. Have been making pudding with rice milk..The only reason I am using rice milk, just for a change. I make my own pudding mix with corn starch..very easy and I know what goes into it. 2/3 cups sugar, I cut that down according to our taste.,1/4 cup corn starch,1/8 tsp.salt, Gradually add 2 3/4 cups of rice milk (if you want chocolate add 2TBS cocoa)..Bring to a boil over med. stirring constantly, boil 1 minute..Remove from heat and add vanilla..or whatever extract you fancy..See how easy this is and you know all the ingredients...In todays time, that is saying something.

The snow has returned...

Well, the weather took a turn and we are getting colder. Snow is falling and schools are closed.
I will keep myself busy painting..
I always put the wrong Etsy address up for my angels..it is ctmorginals.etsy . As you noticed I forgot an "i" in original...I was typing so fast and sent it in, but couldn't change it once accepted.
I guess you might say, I am really original.
You know with Valentines Day coming, a fun project..Take a pipe cleaner and twist it into a heart, single crochet all around it in red, then do a trim in white..Kids love them. They can hang them in
the window..Of course your crochet can get fancy on the last row, it is all up to you..Now tell me, is that a happy project or what?

Added two new angels.

On my Etsy page, CTM Originals, I added two little angels..Something about angels this year..Will admit it is a positive thing and I am going with it..I will only sell a few copies and then that will be it. Time to move on..
How are you doing with your projects? Remember do the things you enjoy and you will succeed..
Even if we are never recognized for our work, we have succeeded..Think of the joy it brings you and that is success. My angels are bringing me such happiness, just creating them.
Etsy is a wonderful place to put your work. It isn't expensive and it really is up to you, how to set the page up..I think it is great..Just think, you can do it from home. That is a big plus..I say this,
start using your gifts and make yourself happy.."glass half full or glass half empty", the ball is in your court. Till tomorrow, keep looking up....

Back again.

I wrote such a beautiful blog and somehow wiped it out..I do have a problem with buttons and clicking on them..So I shall start again.
The weather has been beautiful and we are so thankful..We are heating with a pellet stove and let me tell you, I can't say enough good about it..Being this house is so big, it would take more pellets to heat, than normal. If you get a chance to change your heating to pellets, you won't be sorry.
Just a little note, the pellets cost around $230 - $250 a ton...now in our house, which is large, we will probably use 5 ton...a quote from the fuel company for prepay, $7,000..If this information is helpful to you and I hope it is, think about a pellet stove. My daughter used only 1 1/2 ton last year to heat her home. Remember, anything you can do to be more efficient and less dependent on oil, is a sure thing..Of course the thing is to keep warm in the winter, but do it safely.

Still nice and warm, well what we call warm

It is raining out and I am enjoying it..I know this is going to end soon, but it does break up the winter.
On Etsy, Themumandtherose put up new earrings..they are really beautiful and different.
Made with sterling ear wires and different beads...fun to look at and a wonderful addition to whatever you are wearing.
There are so many good things you can do on the computer/internet. What a wonderful way to
have a business and right from home. Can you ask for anything better than that? I don't care what you do, everyone has a gift.. Find out what makes you happy and then do it..
Many people are afraid of failure, but wouldn't you rather have tried and failed, then to not have tried at all?..You see, not trying is the failure. Now that you have my pep talk, get going on something...it will bring you much happiness.

A good book to read

If you can get it at Amazon, Bloodlines is a great read..It is by Joseph DiLalla. Really keeps you on the edge.
It's kind of sad, books like this don't get alot of rave..It did in his hometown, Greenport, N.Y.
I think if you give it a read, you will not be unhappy. From what I hear, he is writing a second book. If it is anything like this one, I can't wait to read it.
Sometimes it is nice to give a review and let a person know what a great job they did.

Keeping things light

As you noticed on my blog..I am trying to keep things very positive..I think we all need this.
Some may think it is fluff, but with so much happening in the world today, I think we need a break.
Are you keeping up with your New Years plans.?.Even if you do only one thing, you are doing good.
One of my favorite words, "Choices"...Remember it is your choice..
Keep happy and always keep looking up.

Still enjoying the January thaw..

Just love this weather...Keep it coming. I know it can't last for long, but I can dream, can't I?
Still painting and knitting..always do the things that keep you happy..
How about trying to make a "Beer Bread", 3cups self rising flour, 3 TBS sugar, and one 12 oz. can of lite beer. Grease a loaf pan and in you go..bake 350 till brown on top.. I don't time things well. I kind of go by smell..You can do many things to this bread, add cheese, add raisins if you want sweeter..be creative.
Time to move on and remember, Keep looking up....

Make sure you use positive energy

According to some Astrologist this is a good time for financial advancement.. don't waste it..
Right up to the 20th of this month..It is for everyone..
Even if you don't believe in Astrology, it is a very positive thought and worth pushing forward.
Hey, doesn't hurt to give it all you've got...I know I will. It will be fun to see if anything happens.
But remember, it can't happen if you don't try.

January Thaw...

This is what they call a January thaw and I am one happy camper. Even though it may not last long, it makes you happy..Has been a cold winter with so much snow.
Opened up a new Etsy site..so far it has only copies of the watercolor angels I have done.
CTM Originals is the name of the store..I am adding more all the time. For some reason I have a feel for the angels and I am going with it, till I can feel it no more. It does give me joy, so I continue to paint them.

And the snow keeps falling...

Well we are now into the New Year...numerology it will be a number 1 year..New beginnings..
Looking forward to the positive side of that.
We will be into a January thaw this week and let me tell you, makes me a very happy person..
Every other day it seemed like we were getting snow..This time we had back to back storms.
The positive side of this, we are warm and have food..so can't complain.
