Construction..
Our son-in-law is building a roof over the deck, so to keep the snow off in winter..Last winter we
had a metal roof put on the house..well, the snow fell off so nicely, we could hardly get out the door.
We had a small awning over the door, but forget the rest..I am talking snow up to the windows..
So as the guys work, I enjoy my daughter/grandchildren and another daughter came out with them..just for a couple of days..
These are always my happiest times..having family around. So we get a new roof and have family here at the same time..God is good..

Asking A Favor...
Was reading a blog, Rhondamum, and her mom is going through some very hard times with breast cancer..Rhonda is asking if people would send her mom a homemade/bought card, wishing her well..Just go to Rhondamum and comment, leave your email and she will get back to you on where to send the card..This is such a wonderful idea and I am sure will lift her mother's spirit up for the long haul she has..seven weeks of radiation and hopefully, that will do the trick..If not, chemo will be involved.
When going through a treatment like this, it is good to use all the positive, happy energy you have. I took my mother for six weeks of radiation, so I know how important all this is.
Please take the time to bring a little joy to a woman, that is going through a difficult time..Thanks..

What A Crop...
I have to admit, I am shocked at the Raspberries this year..The bush just keeps giving...
This is an old bunch of Raspberry bushes someone gave me a long time ago..Husband cut them all down and they started back two year ago..I told him to leave them..Well, never have I seen so many berries..So far, I think I have had two gallons full..Have been making jellies and freezing the rest, for making more things in the winter..Will of course share this wealth with people..Don't want you guys to think I am a greedy gert..
This is one of the happy bushes that didn't get hit with my famous "weed whacker"..

Shadow Shot Sunday..
Well, here we are with Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday..One of my favorite days..Can not tell you how much fun I have looking for a shadow..
The first is a cute weed, would I have anything else? Next my nightlight was looking pretty neat and as I was walking into the house, I looked towards the road and thought the shadow from the trees was nice.
You have to admit,"I give it my best shot"..Hope you like that line..
Again, thanks Hey Harriet for a fun day..

Something different from SpaceWeather
Another picture from SpaceWeather , taken by ManikaLandy-Gyebnar in Veszpreur, Hungary ..go and read about it on their site.
It is called a Corona..and much smaller than a rainbow..They have so many people sending in pictures of the most beautiful auras, rainbows, which I have shown, and things you never heard of..very educational for children, since they have information about Mars and all the Space missions..
Couldn't help myself, had to share this beauty with everyone..
Thanks again SpaceWeather for your great site..

PamperingBeki is having her Fingerprint Friday and I am always looking for something we don't get a chance to see that often, maybe never..
These beautiful night Rainbows were taken by Martin McKenna, from Maghera, Northern Ireland and are on SpaceWeather. com, one of my favorite sites...Have you ever seen a more beautiful Fingerprint from God..There is something about Rainbows that always give me a thrill..but to think this one is at night..you can see the Big Dipper in two shots..Thank you SpaceWeather for permission to share this beauty...

Happy Surprises..
What a happy surprise I received yesterday in the mail from my dear friend LaVieEstBelle
She has a blog and is from Malaysia..She takes the reader on her travels to many different places, explains the temples and the wonderful operas..in her part of the world..Introducing you to the people as she goes visiting..Just a fantastic blog and one everyone should read..
First picture is the envelope that my note came in..second is a handkerchief that are used in Chinese weddings..then the wrapping paper the last gift came in..A beautiful hand held fan..
The fan is made with real pressed flowers/foliage which has been tastefully arranged to create a beautiful design..If you will notice the word "HEI" on the envelope, paper and handkerchief..which means "Double Happiness"...What a lovely meaning..and such a touching gift. Thank you so much LaVieEstBelle for even thinking of me and taking the time to send me such treasures..

Shadow Shots For Sunday..
Won't get a chance to do my Shadow Shot Sunday, for Hey Harriet tomorrow..So had to do it today..
With the net, I wanted to get someone to hold a racket, but no one was around..I would have knocked on a neighbors door and ask if they would pose for me, but thought I better not..I think the neighbors are starting to worry about me as it is..
On the way back to the house, I caught a cute shadow near the roof.
Hey Harriet has really started a fun time with the Shadow Shots..Some of the pictures are really beautiful and if you haven't tried this..you should..

What a Fingerprint..
Now here is a Fingerprint that I am sure some of you have seen already..I was in awe by the pictures, had to put them here for PamperingBeki's Fingerprint Friday...This is Mars...you can read about it here...
I was so taken by the beauty and how much it looks like earth..It really makes you realize there is so much we don't know about..Just imagine how many Fingerprints that are out in space.
Gives one something to think about, doesn't it?

Summer Squash
The summer squash is starting to grow really nicely..as you can see by the pictures.
A recipe I like is to grate it and steam with grated carrots..then, when cooked, you can add butter/salt/pepper and cheese..Let the cheese melt..Some may think it isn't healthy, but you don't need that much butter/cheese to make it tasty and always use organic..

A Part Of MY History...
I was looking at old pictures and found this one of my grandfather, taken in the summer of 1893..He was a shipbuilder..Here he is working, at 19, on a submarine..This of course, is before he had the shipyard..
This boat was constructed by John Philip Holland, born,1844-County Clare, Ireland. The U.S.Navy, has declared that he is the inventor of Submarines..
Just a neat piece of history and thought it was worth writing about..

My Beautiful Baltimore Oriole.
When the Baltimore Oriole was visiting my Humming Bird feeder at the patio door..I never realized the pictures I took.
These birds sing so beautiful and once you know their song, easy to pick out..as you can see they are very colorful and so happy they visited..The female is lighter in color, little more yellow..
As usual, the first picture, he is looking at me..for some reason, when I take pictures of birds, they end up looking at me..like the female cardinal in the last blog..
Even though they are not real clear pictures, I thought they were worth looking at.
Till next time, keep looking up..

Walking around the yard I took a few pictures of the lovely Milkweed..The smell when it is blooming is wonderful..The Monarch butterfly likes this weed and many times children find it in caterpillar form, put it in a jar, feed it and watch it change into the pupa stage and from there to the beautiful butterfly..It is such an interesting thing to watch..Next, I caught the female cardinal looking at me from the pines..Hard to see, but if you look closely you will see her. Last, but not least, a lone Black-Eyed Susan just starting to open..You know, there is so much we miss in life..
because we are too busy..This year, I am really trying to see all the things in my yard, things I just took for granted..Much of this would be called weeds..but look at that milkweed..a weed? I think not..and the Monarch doesn't think so either...
Till next time, keep looking up..

Face In The Log..
Here is a story from..Ananova.com
that was an interesting read.
It seems Ernest Ward was cleaning up debris with co-workers at Magnolia Cemetery, in Maryville, Tennessee..When he sawed the log in half, the face was there..isn't it something?
I just thought it was an interesting picture.. you don't see things like this that often and worth showing.

Pathway..
Not sure if PamperingBeki is having her Fingerprint Friday..but yesterday with the sun's rays in the backyard, it was beautiful..I tried to get the beauty to share with everyone..This was the best I could do..The top picture isn't that great, but you can still see how pretty it was.
Whenever, I see rays from the sun, I always think of "The Wizard of Oz" and the yellow brick road.. only the rays are a pathway to Heaven..
Till next time, keep looking up..
